It was a challenge to keep this under 12 minutes, especially with the pacing of Butoh being so labored! However, we felt completely satisfied with the results, keeping it simple and leaving the audience wanting more. In embodying the characters, each dancer took on a specific character portraying the difficulties of a fishing community that was clueless when suddenly strange neurological symptoms began firstly with the local cats, then with the people.
Performed December 6, 2014 at the Subterranean Arthouse, Berkeley, for We All Live in Bhopal!
